On a hot — or maybe chilly — Minnesota fall day (come on, MN, are we wearing t-shirts or sweaters?), our Safeway Home Healthcare team joined many other organizations and businesses at the Vadnais Heights Health & Wellness Resource Fair. The crisp leaves rustled overhead, and so did the conversations, as we connected with neighbors, businesses, and community leaders about what it means to age well today and access trusted home health care in Minnesota.

Sharing What We Do

As we looked around at vendors offering massage, chiropractic care, dental services, and vision screenings, we made a point to connect with those who put people at the center of their work. This event wasn’t just about selling a product; it was about solving problems together. We were proud to be among like-minded organizations and to place our brochures directly into people’s hands as they explored the services we provide.

At Safeway, we offer more than care, we offer peace of mind. Our core services include:

  • Homemaking – Keeping your home comfortable, safe, and welcoming
  • Companionship – Because care is more than tasks; it’s connection
  • Help with outings – Support that gets you where you want to go
  • Yard care – A helping hand to keep your outdoors thriving
  • Pet care – Caring for the companions who care for you
  • Personal care – Dignified support for daily routines
  • Meal preparation – Nutritious meals made with comfort in mind
  • Technology assistance – Helping you stay connected in today’s digital world

When we introduce our work, we often ask people to imagine their favorite daily activity, then imagine losing the ability to enjoy it because of hearing loss, vision changes, or limited mobility. Safeway Home Healthcare bridges that gap, ensuring people can continue living life on their own terms with reliable in-home senior care in Minnesota.

A Warm Reception

As we handed out flyers and shared our story, I was struck by how warmly our message was received. Nearly everyone responded with something like, “This would be perfect for my mom, my friend, my neighbor.” Those conversations reminded us that we aren’t just a service provider; we are problem solvers, offering solutions that help families and communities feel supported and cared for by a trusted home healthcare agency in the Twin Cities.

Looking Ahead

We were also grateful to connect with an aide to the commissioner for Vadnais Heights, sharing how Safeway is committed to being part of broader policy solutions. Staffing challenges in home care are real, but quality and availability should never suffer. With innovation and collaboration, we believe a sustainable model for the future of Twin Cities home care services is possible.

Trivia, Conversations & a Raffle

To make things fun, we added a trivia question tied to our raffle for a travel mug emblazoned with the Safeway logo. The question was simple but thought-provoking: Myth or Truth? Minnesotans age 65 and older now outnumber elementary-age students. (source)

The wide range of guesses sparked some great conversations, with many people surprised by the answer. It turned out to be a fantastic icebreaker, helping us connect with attendees on why aging and care matter to every family. Good luck to our raffle winner — we hope they enjoy their new Safeway mug!

Closing Thoughts

Events like these reaffirm what we know to be true: the need for home health care in Minnesota is growing, and communities are eager for solutions that honor both clients and caregivers. At Safeway, we’re committed to that future—one conversation, one connection, and one solution at a time.
